TREX GATES

Trex® Gates for Composite Privacy Fencing
Pre-built single and double Trex® fence gates engineered to match Seclusions, Horizons, and Solitudes composite fencing systems.
The Gate Is the Working Part of Your Trex Fence
Homeowners love how beautiful their Trex fence looks and how it provides privacy and security—but the gate is just as important. A fence is like a chain: it’s only as strong as its weakest link. Every panel matters, and the gate has to work hard every day.
Trex makes both vertical and horizontal composite fence systems: Trex Seclusions is the vertical system, while Trex Horizons and Trex Solitudes are horizontal privacy fence styles.
For a true privacy fence, continuity is critical—you want your Trex gates to blend seamlessly with the fence. FDS pre-built gates are designed to match every Trex fencing style so the system reads as one clean, unified design.
As the official Trex fencing supplier and product designer, FDS sells standard-size composite gate panels and corresponding hardware kits that include latches, hinges, handles, and screws. If you prefer to choose your own gate hardware, you can order Trex gates by themselves without the kit.

What Makes an FDS Pre-Built Trex® Gate Ideal for Trex Fencing
Constructed for Longevity
An internal welded galvanized steel frame ensures your Trex gate stands up to daily use. The smart design of the interlocking composite picket system provides rigidity, privacy, and long-term performance.
Fully Assembled & Easy to Install
Each Trex gate arrives fully assembled. Attach the hinges to the gate panel, then to the post, add the latch and anti-sag cable, and you’re ready to go—no complex on-site fabrication or field-building of the gate panel.
Pairs Perfectly with Your Fence
Gates are built with the same top rail as the fence, and a fascia piece is added at the bottom to mimic the fence’s bottom rail. The result is a composite fence gate that visually disappears into the fence line.
Single & Double Gate Options
Single Trex gates are ideal for walkways and backyard access. For openings over 6′ wide, double gates provide up to 12′ of clear opening—enough for most RVs, trailers, and maintenance equipment.
Standard & Custom Sizes
Trex gate panels are available for two standard opening sizes (46 ¼″ and 65 ½″ between posts for single gates) and can be built up to 8′ tall. Custom widths are available when standard sizes don’t match your layout.
Custom Hardware & Post Stiffeners
Black stainless hardware is engineered for harsh environments. Latches accept a padlock from either side, hinges are fully adjustable, and hinge-side posts can be reinforced with steel stiffeners to support gate loads.
Trex Seclusions Gate Sizes & Dimensions
Internal Gate Panel Frame
Seclusions composite gates are built with a welded internal 1 ¼″ square galvanized steel frame. The outer edge of the steel frame sits 1″ in from the edge of the gate panel to stay hidden behind the Trex boards while carrying the structural load.
Custom Seclusions Gate Sizes Available
In addition to standard sizes, FDS can fabricate custom Seclusions gates to match unique openings, heights, or site conditions while still aligning with the post spacing and fence layout.
Trex Horizons Gate Sizes & Dimensions
Horizons Components
All Trex Horizons components are matte black powder-coated galvanized steel. In coastal applications, stainless steel components must be used for maximum corrosion resistance around salt and moisture.
Internal Gate Panel Frame
Horizons gates use the same welded 1 ¼″ square galvanized steel internal frame, set 1″ in from the panel edge. The horizontal fence aesthetic is preserved while the hidden frame carries the structural load.
Custom Horizons Gate Sizes Available
Custom Horizons gates can be fabricated for unique widths and heights, ensuring the composite gate layout matches the rhythm of the horizontal boards and post spacing in your Trex fence.

Trex® Gate Options
When planning Trex fence gates, you have options. FDS offers composite gates in 6′ and 8′ heights—the most common privacy fence heights—with standard and large-width panels in both single and double configurations.
Single gates are perfect for everyday access, while double gates provide a wide opening for riding lawnmowers, trailers, and service vehicles in and out of the fenced area.
Reinforced Trex® Gates
Some gates are opened only occasionally; others are used many times a day. Internal reinforcement helps ensure Trex composite gates hold up no matter how often they’re used.
Hinge post stiffeners—galvanized steel inserts inside the hinge-side post—support the gate’s weight and motion, and anti-sag cables in the gate hardware kit help keep the gate square over time.
Custom Trex® Gates
Many projects use standard sizes, but custom openings are common—especially around driveways, side yards, and service areas. FDS can build Trex gates wider or narrower, taller or shorter to match your fence layout.
Every Trex gate looks the same on both sides—there are no “good” or “bad” sides—and latches are designed to accept a padlock from the inside or outside for extra security and access control.
